Caring For Your Christmas Tree
As soon as you get your fresh, farmgrown, tree home, make a fresh cut straight ΒΌ of an inch cut across the base of the trunk.
Place your tree in a bucket or tree stand containing at least a gallon of water. Keep your stand full of water. A Christmas tree may absorb a gallon of water in the first 24 hours it is up and several quarts a day thereafter. In nine days, the tree will weigh more as a cut tree than it did at harvest.
A Fraser fir, the premier tree, will remain green with great needle retention for the Christmas Season using these techniques!
