Most usually grown by a local tree farm		Has been shipped into the US from overseas; China supplies approximately 85% of US artificial trees.
Biodegradable		Stays in landfill for years because it's made of plastics and other materials that are non-biodegradable
Nearly completely chemical-free		Contains PVC, lead and other chemicals
Can be composted, replanted or recycled		When thrown away, it can not be recycled
When needles fall off, they are harmless		Touching branches can cause harmful lead dust fallout
